                           COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Welcome to our community support page.

We are dedicated to giving back to our community and thanks to the support of our valued customers, has made it possible for us to participate in various activities that help make a difference and improve the quality of other people's lives that are in need.

This year members of our staff have had the privilege of being involved with Fish Food Bank & Families Unlimited Network, Polk Halo Youth Work Program & Sacred Road Mission Outreach. All three organizations provide valuable services to those in our community who are in need of assistance, but might not receive it without the generous support and participation of their donors and volunteers.

These organizations are in continual need of support, so please consider becoming involved by donating some time, food, building materials, clothing or much needed money.
Fish Food Bank & Families Unlimited Network:
Thanks to the support of dedicated volunteers and generous donations of food and money from local supporters, Fish Food Bank & Families Unlimited Network was recently in the local news for winning the Volunteers Of The Year Award. Every Tuesday, we close of offices early to proudly serve our local residents who need a helping hand.
In these tough economic times, many individuals and families have come to find themselves in need of outside services to help make ends meet. Fish food Bank & Familes Unlimited Network helps those in need by providing assistance with food and other expenses such as costly utility bills, on a month basis. Without this assistance many families and children would go hungry and / or have no electricity or heat in the cold winter months. Community support and donatons are despritely needed.  To volunteer your time or make a donation, please contact Barbara Severson at the University Place branch at:

Polk Halo Program:
This summer Rich Jones; President of Cascadia Knife Company, worked with at risk youth in a youth job training program sponsored by the Polk Halo Work Program located in Independence, OR. The 2009 summer Halo work training program was funded by the Federal Government's  American Reinvestment & Recovery Act. The at risk youth were taught various skills in the construction trades. With Rich being a former owner of a large full service construction company, he was assigned a position teaching  basic construction techniques involved in the removing, grading and pouring of new concrete sidewalks throughout the city of Independence. At the end of the program the students were taught construction skills relevant to their trade as well as important life skills.
The program is the first of it's kind and featured in the local newspaper.
The Polk Halo program is a unique not for profit program that is dedicated to providing many valuable services to at risk youth. The program gives young people the assistance and skills they need to be successful in life. Funding of the program is provided by state and federal grants and by the generous support of indiviual donors like yourself. There are many young people who are in need of the services this program provides, so please consider making a donation.

Sacred Road Ministries:
Every year, Church groups and individuals from all across the U.S. come and volunteer their time and money to help Chris Granberry and his family realize their Christian mission to help the  Yakima Indian nation over come social and economic boundaries set in place by the effects of extreme poverty, drugs and alcohol abuse. This past June, our office manager Amanda participated by volunteering her time in ministering to the people of the Yakima nation while working with a group of volunteers that provided assistance in making much needed home repairs.
To learn more about this mission effort and to volunteer your time or to make a donation please contact Chris Granberry at 509 930 1503 or by email at cgranberry@msn.com. Sacred Road Ministries is currently in need of volunteers, food, clothes and money. They are also constructing a new church with added plans to build a boys and girls camp in the future and are in need of building materials.
Over the years there have been many attempts to strip away our constitutional rights to bear arms. The NRA has always fought hard to preserve that right and needs your continued support.

Did you know that the term " Arms " also includes knives. Last year we as U.S. citizens came very close to loosing our right to legally being able to own and carry not just spring assisted knives, but also any knife that opens with one hand.  Without the public's knowledge, U.S. customs tried to change the definition of what a switchblade knife is, by attempting to include several different styles of knives currently legal that also included spring assisted knives. Had U.S. customs got their way, literally millions of law abiding people would have been found to be breaking the law by the simple act of carrying a one handed opening knife.

Thanks to the collective efforts of knife dealers all over the U.S., Congressmen, normal everyday people and the NRA our rights have been preserved from once again another ridicules attempt to strip away our constitutional rights.
